Acti is one of the clearest attempts to make AI agentic at the mobile input layer: instead of opening a chatbot, users can trigger search, retrieval and connected actions from the keyboard they already use. The concept is genuinely differentiated and early Android sentiment is positive, but the product is young, free-use quotas are fluid and the trust burden is unusually high because a keyboard can act through connected accounts.

ego (lite) is a distinctive local-first Chromium browser for letting coding agents drive a logged-in browser state in isolated Spaces. Its strongest case is convenience and privacy for agent browser automation; the main limitation is that current performance and reliability claims remain almost entirely first-party.

Glaze is a distinctive local-first Mac app builder with unusually deep OS integration, editable source and sensible permission controls. Its strongest limitation is ecosystem dependence: distribution runs through Glaze, current platform support is narrow, credit economics can be hard to predict, and independent evidence remains very thin.

LocalMode UI is a technically distinctive open-source React registry for browser-native AI interfaces: copy-owned components, strong local-first defaults, offline-capable blocks and explicit portability tests. Its design is unusually transparent, but adoption and independent validation remain small, and its privacy advantage applies only when developers actually pair the UI with local inference rather than a cloud backend.
