Afferentis has introduced Somatis, a platform that combines open-source ERP selection, deployment and AI-agent automation.
Rather than replacing the ERP core, Somatis evaluates systems such as Odoo and ERPNext against a company’s requirements, deploys the selected software on customer-controlled infrastructure and then adds agents around the resulting environment.
Afferentis says agent actions are checked against policy rules, use least-privilege access and are logged, while higher-impact actions such as financial postings, deletions and permission changes require human approval. The platform also advertises token budgets and cost tracking by team and agent.
Those governance and deployment claims are currently first-party specifications rather than independently established reliability results. The product is notable because it treats agent permissions, auditability and cost control as part of the ERP architecture from the start.
