Devin AI, the conversational development assistant from Cognition, released a major upgrade for users of the Microsoft ecosystem. According to the company’s blog (September 23 2026), the update adds native support for @‑mentioning Devin in Microsoft Teams, allowing the bot to be added to channels, group chats and direct messages and to respond within the same conversation thread.
In addition, a first‑party Microsoft 365 integration is now available through Cognition’s MCP Marketplace. The integration provides six delegated connectors – Mail & Contacts, Calendar, OneDrive & SharePoint, Microsoft To Do, Microsoft Teams, and Directory (Entra ID) – that let Devin act as the signed‑in user to read, organize and, where consented, write data such as sending Outlook email, creating calendar events, uploading files, managing tasks and posting messages on behalf of the user.
Security and permissions are scoped per‑user. The Teams app does not request new permissions beyond the existing install, and access to mail, files or calendars is granted only through resource‑specific consent. The Microsoft 365 MCP connections each have their own consent screen with read‑only as the minimum scope; write access is optional and can be disabled. Administrators can require admin approval for consent or use a self‑hosted Entra App instead of Cognition’s hosted MCP servers.
Both the Teams app and the Microsoft 365 integration are described as “available now to all Devin customers.” Installation steps involve adding the Devin AI app from the Microsoft Marketplace for Teams and connecting the desired Microsoft 365 services in the MCP Marketplace within Devin.
The announcement positions the new capabilities as a way for engineers to issue commands such as reading design documents from SharePoint, summarising related email threads, opening pull requests, scheduling calendar events and updating task lists, all performed by Devin acting with the same permissions as the user.
The source does not mention pricing, regional restrictions beyond the North America region of the blog, or any third‑party evaluations of the integration.
