LexisNexis has expanded Lexis+ with Protégé around a more agentic, context-carrying workflow. Instead of forcing users to move between separate research, drafting and review experiences, the platform can route a described legal task across appropriate AI models, agents, skills and selected sources while preserving matter context from the initial question through review-ready work product.
The release also pushes Protégé further into document production. LexisNexis says the platform can generate structured Word, Excel and PowerPoint outputs, combine authoritative LexisNexis content with customer documents and organizational knowledge, and retain Shepard’s citation intelligence and enterprise controls. Independent legal-tech coverage describes the change as a shift from predefined workflows toward a dynamic orchestration layer that decides which tools to use for the task.
For buyers of legal AI, the practical change is less about another isolated feature and more about workflow consolidation: research, drafting, analysis and review are increasingly being sold as one continuous agentic workspace.
