Microsoft is consolidating and simplifying the consumer Copilot experience across web, desktop and mobile while continuing to distinguish the personal Copilot product from Microsoft 365 Copilot for work.
A material change is the retirement of Deep Research in the consumer Copilot app starting August 18, 2026. Microsoft says existing research content is subject to its transition guidance, so Deep Research should no longer be treated as a current consumer-app capability.
