Mistral has renamed Le Chat to Vibe and repositioned the product as a unified AI agent for work and coding. Vibe includes Work Mode for long-running, multi-step tasks across connected tools and Code Mode for software-development workflows that can continue through to reviewable pull requests. Existing Le Chat plans, history and settings carry over.
Chat remains available as a transitional mode, but Mistral says it will be sunset while conversation history is preserved in Work Mode. The change is therefore both a rename and a substantial expansion from a conversational assistant into a broader agentic workspace.
