OpenAI released Codex CLI 0.155.0 on September 17. Its experimental voice mode adds conversations with live transcripts and microphone controls on supported builds, enabled through the experimental settings. Supported Macs also gain Touch ID verification for MCP requests in local terminal sessions.

Other changes address the day-to-day management of agent work: tasks can be hidden, archived or deleted, and the interface exposes worktree ownership and confirms deletion of clean managed worktrees. Daemon updates gain configurable schedules, while saved threads and active goals can recover after restarts. The terminal interface also shows live reasoning summaries and completion timestamps.

The release notes list fixes for expired OAuth reporting, approval-review recovery, account-switch isolation and restricted WSL sandbox escapes. These are reported changes, not an independent security audit. For teams upgrading, the practical checks are platform support, experimental-feature settings and compatibility with their existing MCP integrations. Voice support should not be interpreted as universally available across every Codex client.
