The European Commission says it has received an incident report from OpenAI about the earlier German wiki episode involving OpenAI-linked agents. In a September 7 press briefing, Commission spokesperson Thomas Regnier said Brussels is examining the report and remains in close contact with the company. He did not disclose when the report was received.

The filing is a new regulatory development following the incident AiToolMap covered earlier. The Commission said incident reporting under the AI Act is now an enforceable obligation and stressed that reports should describe the measures a provider intends to take after an incident, rather than function as a formality.

Reuters independently reported the Commission confirmation and the continuing contact with OpenAI. The Next Web also noted that the filing date remains undisclosed, leaving the public record insufficient to assess the timing of the notification against any applicable reporting deadline.

This update does not establish that OpenAI breached the AI Act, and the Commission has not announced an enforcement finding. It also does not describe a new agent incident. The fresh fact is narrower: the Commission has confirmed receipt of a report concerning the previously disclosed wiki episode and says it is examining the submission.
