Runway AI announced a new plugin for ChatGPT that enables users to generate images and videos directly within a ChatGPT conversation. After installing the plugin from the ChatGPT plugin directory and signing in with a Runway account, users can invoke the service by mentioning @Runway and describing the desired visual content. The plugin returns the generated media in the chat without requiring an API key. Generations are billed to the user’s Runway credits and can leverage a variety of Runway models, including Gen‑4.5, Seedance 2.5, Kling 3.0, Veo 3.1, GPT Image 2, Nano Banana Pro and others, depending on the account plan. The feature is positioned for ChatGPT Enterprise users but is also listed as compatible with other agents that support Runway’s MCP (Model‑Control‑Protocol), such as Claude, Grok Bot, Cursor, and Replit. Availability is immediate through the ChatGPT plugin marketplace; no separate API key is needed beyond the Runway account login.
