UGREEN has unveiled HomeAgent, a smart-home platform built around local AI processing, local storage and device control.
The system combines a home hub with cameras, speakers and displays. UGREEN says its Uliya assistant can search and summarize locally stored camera footage, recognize common events and interact with compatible smart-home devices. Higher-end hardware uses NVIDIA Jetson Thor for heavier local models.
HomeAgent is designed to reduce dependence on cloud processing, but it is not fully offline. Remote access and phone notifications still require internet connectivity.
That distinction matters for a product handling household video, microphones and device control. Local inference can reduce data exposure, while networked access and remote-control features still create a security surface that users need to evaluate.
