Agent TiVo is TiVo's new conversational entertainment-discovery layer for operators and streaming platforms. Viewers can search by voice or text, refine requests through follow-up conversation, receive personalized recommendations and move from discovery toward watching without repeatedly rebuilding keyword queries. 12

Evidence & trust
Evidence limits
AiToolMap did not deploy Agent TiVo, test voice recognition, measure recommendation relevance, audit model routing, compare latency/cost with an LLM-only system or validate engagement outcomes. No eligible exact-product fixed-panel numeric evidence was found. The 8.4 rating is LOW-confidence and not rank eligible.
Safety & Trust
Entertainment recommendations are low-stakes compared with medical or financial agents, but operators still need privacy controls around viewing history, household profiles and voice inputs. Recommendations should also expose why content is suggested and avoid silently allowing generative output to override authoritative availability, rating or parental-control metadata.
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
The main advantage is the foundation underneath the conversational layer. TiVo already operates search, recommendation and personalization products across operator and smart-TV environments, so Agent TiVo can reason over entertainment-specific metadata, availability and viewing context rather than behave like a general-purpose chatbot guessing from public knowledge. 34
The architecture is also pragmatic. TiVo says Agent TiVo uses hybrid model routing to send requests to appropriate models, aiming to control cost and latency rather than route every interaction through the most expensive LLM. The product is white-label and designed to extend existing TiVo deployments without a major platform replacement. 1
Independent trade coverage confirms the same exact launch surface: voice/text conversation, follow-up refinement, personalized recommendations and entertainment-specific model routing. 2
Weaknesses
The exact product is extremely new. It was formally introduced on September 11, 2026, after TiVo had previewed an upcoming AI discovery experience earlier in September. There is therefore no meaningful longitudinal evidence yet on recommendation quality, hallucination rates, latency, engagement lift or operator economics. 15
Pricing is not public and the product is aimed at operator/platform deployments rather than direct self-service use. Parent TiVo deployment scale and historical personalization expertise cannot establish that the new conversational layer itself is better than established search or competing entertainment agents.
