Product & capabilities
What it does
AI Toolbox is a Chromium extension that adds organization and productivity features to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Grok. Its current surface includes folders, full-text history search, bookmarks, reusable prompts, prompt chaining, bulk export/delete, smart tags, context references and cross-device synchronization.

Evidence & trust
Evidence limits
AiToolMap did not install or hands-on test the extension. The fixed 50-source panel found G2 exact-product ratings and a small Trustpilot service-review corpus; no broad independent testing benchmark was located. Chrome Web Store ratings are useful corroboration but sit outside the fixed panel and are therefore not used directly in the external numeric equation. The 8.7 rating remains LOW-confidence and is not rank eligible.
Safety & Trust
The current privacy policy states that conversation content is stored locally in the browser, while some user-created organizational data such as folders, prompts, IDs and labels can sync to company servers. The policy explicitly says server-side encryption is not zero-knowledge. The Chrome Web Store also discloses handling of personally identifiable information, authentication information, personal communications and website content. Users should review extension permissions and sync settings before deploying it for privileged, regulated or client-confidential work. 123456
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
The extension solves a real usability gap in the major AI chat products without trying to replace them. Current Chrome Web Store data shows 40,000 users and a 4.7/5 rating from 782 ratings, which is a meaningful adoption signal. Pricing is also flexible: a functional free tier, $9.99 monthly or $59 annual per module, $99 lifetime per module, a $199 all-platform lifetime option, and team pricing from $12 per seat per month billed annually. The current privacy policy is unusually explicit about what stays local and what is synchronized.
Weaknesses
The product sits inside highly sensitive AI-chat workflows, so browser permissions and synchronization deserve more scrutiny than a normal standalone web app. Conversation text is described as local, but folders, prompts, IDs, labels and related synchronization data can be stored server-side and are encrypted at rest rather than end-to-end or zero-knowledge. That is a reasonable architecture, but users should understand the distinction. Fixed-panel independent review coverage is also still small: G2 has only seven exact-product reviews.
