Cactal lets an agent build and operate real React-based websites rather than filling a proprietary page template. An agent can create a site, write and edit source, model CMS content, preview drafts, publish, connect domains, read analytics and roll back versions. The same operations are available through a hosted MCP server, versioned public API and typed SDK.
Safety is built around drafts and reversible publishing. Every change lands as a versioned draft rather than directly replacing the live site. Cactal describes a multi-stage quality-control pipeline that checks content schema, site configuration, imports, formatting, types, code quality, routes, build and render before a version can serve. Failed builds are reported back to the agent instead of reaching visitors. Published versions remain restorable with one-click rollback.
The platform bundles a headless CMS, managed hosting, certificates, CDN, SEO primitives and first-party analytics. SEO support includes sitemaps, robots rules, redirects, canonicals and per-page metadata generated from the site. Analytics is described as first-party, cookie-free and without personal-data collection, with CSV export. These claims are first-party and were not independently benchmarked in the reviewed public evidence.
Access control is granular for both people and agents. Organizations have owner/admin/member roles, collaborators can be scoped to a single website, content-only roles are available, and API keys can be limited to an organization or site with read or full-edit access. Keys can be rotated/revoked and cannot hold the owner role, preventing an integration from changing billing. Cactal says sensitive operations are audited and tenants/sites are structurally isolated.
The product intentionally supports a bring-your-own-agent model. Cactal does not meter prompts or bundle a mandatory model subscription; users continue paying their chosen model/agent provider separately. AI is not required: the dashboard, API and SDK expose the same platform capabilities for manual or programmatic use.
