Canva AI 2.0 shifts Canva’s AI layer from a collection of “Magic” tools toward a conversational, agentic creative workspace. In the current research preview, a user can start from an idea or brief and generate a fully layered, editable design rather than a flat image. Canva says the new Design Model understands layout, hierarchy and design structure, while an orchestration layer can coordinate multiple Canva tools in one workflow.12
The 2.0 surface adds persistent memory, brand-aware generation, connectors, scheduled tasks, web research, Canva Code 2.0 and deeper conversational editing. Connectors can draw context from tools including Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Calendar, Notion, Zoom, HubSpot, Microsoft, Atlassian and Linear. Scheduling allows recurring or future AI tasks to run while the user is offline.2
These features sit alongside established Magic Studio tools such as Magic Write, AI photo editing, image/video generation, Magic Layers, resize/translation and brand tools. The practical advantage is integration: generated output remains editable in the same environment used for manual design, collaboration, presentation, social content and publishing.1
