Audit-focused AI assistant embedded in Excel workpapers, with engagement-aware workflows connecting client requests, audit context and spreadsheet work.
Caseware Verity for Excel brings engagement-aware AI directly into audit workpapers. It can use trial balance data, financial statements, risks, controls, materiality, uploaded documents, firm knowledge and authoritative standards to prepare schedules, populate templates, extract document data, analyze balances and answer technical questions without leaving Excel.

Evidence & trust
Evidence limits
AiToolMap did not perform hands-on audit testing. The fixed external panel returned no eligible exact-product numeric input. The 8.2 rating is therefore a LOW-confidence desk assessment based on documented capability, controls and workflow fit rather than an independently benchmarked productivity score.
Safety & Trust
Verity can influence audit workpapers and professional judgments, so generated schedules, extracted data, technical answers and proposed spreadsheet changes require reviewer verification against source evidence and applicable professional standards. Explicit approval before workbook changes and citation support are positive controls, but they do not transfer professional responsibility to the model. Firms should validate access boundaries, engagement isolation, retention, model/data handling and audit-trail requirements within their own deployment. 12
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
The product is unusually well grounded in the audit engagement rather than just the current spreadsheet. Citations are built into answers, proposed workbook changes require explicit approval, and Verity cannot write back into other engagement content from the Excel surface. Caseware also states that firm data is not used to train AI models or shared across firms.
Weaknesses
Access depends on Caseware Cloud Connector and a Verity license, so this is not a standalone Excel assistant. Standalone pricing is not public. Caseware reports large time savings from testing, but those figures are first-party and cannot substitute for independent exact-product validation.
