Product & capabilities
What it does
Conveo is an AI-native qualitative-research platform built around interviews with real people. Its AI moderator can run video, voice and text interviews, ask adaptive follow-up questions, synthesize themes and quotes, and accumulate prior studies into a queryable consumer-understanding layer. This is materially different from synthetic-persona research: the evidence originates from recruited human participants, while AI handles moderation and analysis. 1

Evidence & trust
Evidence limits
AiToolMap did not run a study, recruit participants, compare Conveo with human moderators or independently score transcript/synthesis accuracy. G2's 13-review corpus is current but small, and some recent reviews are incentivized; Capterra currently has zero reviews. Apple App Store and Google Play confirm the participant-app surface but provide no usable numeric rating evidence. The resulting 8.2 rating remains LOW-confidence and is not rank eligible. 4623
Safety & Trust
Qualitative research can include sensitive participant video, voice, screen content and opinions. Teams should minimize collected data, obtain appropriate consent, verify retention/deletion controls, restrict access to raw recordings and keep human review over interpretation. AI-generated themes or emotional inferences should be treated as analytical assistance rather than objective facts about participants.
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
The main strength is end-to-end workflow coverage. Conveo combines study design, participant interviews, automated analysis and an institutional research repository rather than forcing teams to move transcripts and findings across multiple tools. The company has also built dedicated iOS and Android participant apps for studies that need camera, microphone or screen sharing, which supports richer remote interview formats. 123
Current user evidence is positive but not yet deep. G2 shows Conveo at 4.4/5 across 13 reviews. Recent reviewers commonly praise fast qualitative workflows, adaptive follow-up questions, centralized interview review and reduced manual analysis. Research Live independently confirms that the platform conducts AI-moderated video, voice and text interviews and is being used by large brands. 45
Weaknesses
The economics are not lightweight. G2's current vendor-supplied pricing page lists an Enterprise starting point of $45,000 per year plus a Pay & Go option, while Conveo's own main site remains sales-led. Reviewers also surface practical limits: topic guides can require manual correction, exports/report sharing are not always as flexible as desired, and large interview volumes still require human verification and can become expensive. 46
The research methodology also deserves caution. An adaptive AI moderator can create consistency and scale, but it can still miss non-verbal nuance, follow an unhelpful interpretation of a guide or over-compress conflicting responses during synthesis. Human researchers remain necessary for study design, sampling, interpretation and consequential conclusions.
