Devin Desktop is Cognition’s June 2026 redesign and renaming of Windsurf. The current product keeps the full IDE but moves an Agent Command Center to the foreground: engineers can launch, supervise and review multiple local and cloud coding agents, work with shared Spaces/context, inspect changes in the editor and hand work to cloud agents without treating the IDE and the agent fleet as separate products. Cognition explicitly says existing Windsurf plans, pricing, extensions, settings and in-progress work migrate into Devin Desktop. 12
The multi-agent layer is the main differentiator. The current surface supports ACP-compatible agents rather than only one Cognition agent, and The Information independently describes Cognition’s strategy as a neutral command center for agents from multiple providers.
