NebuSec review
Updated 2026-09-12
Product & capabilities
What it does
NebuSec is an AI-native security platform centered today on continuous code security and AI pentesting. Its current code-security surface covers full-repository scans, pull-request review, daily security review, threat modeling and remediation workflows. The broader site also describes supply-chain and cloud security, but those modules are explicitly marked coming soon and are not treated here as generally available. 12

Evidence & trust
Evidence limits
AiToolMap did not scan a repository, reproduce the benchmark, validate false-positive/false-negative rates, inspect generated patches or audit customer deployments. Public CVE work supports team competence but is not the same thing as product-level efficacy. No eligible fixed-panel numeric evidence was found. The resulting 8.1 rating is LOW-confidence and not rank eligible.
Safety & Trust
Security automation should not autonomously merge remediations or suppress findings without review in high-impact systems. Teams should validate findings against their own codebase, preserve evidence and reproducibility, require human approval for fixes, and keep an independent path for conventional SAST/DAST, dependency and penetration-testing controls while the product matures.
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
The company has unusually strong public security-research evidence for a young vendor. NebuSec maintains a public vulnerability index with more than 1,100 findings and more than 170 public CVEs, while Y Combinator independently corroborates the founders' vulnerability-research background and major bug-bounty work. This does not prove the commercial product's detection rate, but it is meaningful evidence that the underlying team can find and validate real vulnerabilities. 34
The product design also focuses on continuous engineering workflows rather than one-off scans: repository-wide analysis, pull-request review, daily review and generated remediation are integrated into the code lifecycle. That is a stronger fit for fast-moving AI-assisted development than periodic point-in-time testing. 2
Security transparency is a positive. NebuSec's current security page explicitly says SOC 2 readiness is underway and that it does not yet claim a completed SOC 2 report or other third-party certification. The same page documents access control, environment separation, change review, incident response and vendor-management principles. That level of restraint is preferable to ambiguous badge marketing. 5
Weaknesses
The main weakness is the gap between research credibility and independent commercial-product validation. NebuSec publishes a benchmark comparing its system with Codex Security and Claude Security across bug coverage, time and estimated cost, but this is vendor-run research. It can inform product design, not serve as independent proof of superiority. 6
Pricing is not public, and no mature external review corpus was found. The platform also presents supply-chain and cloud security prominently while marking them coming soon, so buyers should evaluate the currently available code-security surface rather than the future platform vision. 1
