AI image editing and image/text-to-video generation with reference-image workflows.
SoulGen is currently a browser-based AI image and video creation suite, not just the older text-to-image product often described in legacy reviews. Its current first-party surface includes text/image-to-video, talking-video generation with sound and lip-sync, AI character creation, image editing, outpainting, human modeling, reference-to-video and Soul Chat. The current create flow includes an optional “Looks like” reference-image field, and the homepage explicitly markets lookalike portrait generation from uploaded reference photos. 123
The pricing surface shows multiple current generation models and credit costs, including SoulGen 3.0, SoulGen 2.0 and SoulOmni variants. Current workflows span still images, video, reference-driven generation, editing and companion/chat features, but no public developer API or broad third-party integration ecosystem was verified for the canonical soulgen.ai product. 4
SoulGen publishes a PRO subscription term of $12.99 per month with 100 credits per month. The live pricing page also exposes detailed per-feature credit consumption, including image/text-to-video, reference-to-video, video editing, AI Character, Human Modeling, Smart Edit and Soul Chat. 54
The product provides a free/test entry path, while paid use combines subscription access with credit consumption. Refunds are constrained: the current return policy allows requests within 14 calendar days, but used credit packs and used Premium access are non-refundable and there are no partial or pro-rata refunds. 67
Capterra’s current SoulGen listing reports $9.99/month and one verified user review, while SoulGen’s own current subscription terms state $12.99/month. Because first-party pricing is authoritative, AiToolMap normalizes $12.99/month and treats the Capterra amount as a third-party discrepancy rather than canonical pricing. 85
SoulGen’s March 2026 Terms prohibit unlawful, pornographic/lewd, privacy-invasive and rights-infringing uploaded or shared content, prohibit third-party private information without consent, prohibit content that harms or exploits children, and provide reporting and infringement routes. 6
There is nevertheless a material Safety & Trust tension. The same product explicitly supports reference-photo lookalike creation and human-modeling workflows, yet the reviewed Terms do not state a clear categorical prohibition on generating an identifiable real person without permission. The Terms also say users below the local legal age may use the service under parental or guardian supervision. Those clauses merit caution because the product accepts face-containing reference media. 126
The March 2026 Privacy Policy says text entered for creation and generated content are stored on SoulGen servers for seven days and may be deleted earlier by the user; public community posts can remain until deleted. It identifies Firebase Crashlytics and Google among third parties, describes transfer/storage in Hong Kong and other jurisdictions, and does not identify a dedicated biometric/face-data regime in the reviewed text. 9
Operator transparency improved on the current site: the About and Contact pages identify Synapse AI Limited in Hong Kong and provide a registration number and address. 310
Independent evidence is limited but not absent. Capterra updated its exact-product SoulGen listing in August 2026 and currently shows a 3.0/5 rating from one review; the reviewer praises render features but criticizes value. Trustpilot has only two older reviews and no reviews in the last 12 months, so it is retained as qualitative service context only. Specialist 2026 reviews generally describe image/character generation as the main product strength and chat as secondary, but these sources vary in rigor and some are affiliate-supported, so they do not substitute for hands-on AiToolMap testing. 81112
SoulGen is best suited to users who want a single browser product for AI portraits, character creation, image editing and increasingly capable video workflows, including reference-driven generation. Its granular credit schedule makes feature costs more auditable than products that expose only opaque token balances. 4
It is less suitable for users who require a documented API/integration stack, strong independent benchmarking, simple all-inclusive pricing, or strict institutional controls around real-person likeness and minors. Organizations handling sensitive identity media should treat uploaded reference faces as sensitive data and review the current policy language before use.
broad image/video toolset; current multi-model video generation; reference-image workflows; detailed credit-cost disclosure; explicit current subscription terms; 14-day unused-purchase refund route; seven-day retention statement for private generated content; disclosed Hong Kong operator.
no public API/integration ecosystem verified; subscription plus credits can make effective cost variable; independent exact-product validation is thin; Capterra and first-party subscription prices conflict; reference-photo/human-modeling capability is not paired with a clear categorical real-person likeness prohibition in the reviewed Terms; under-age supervised-use clause is a material Safety & Trust concern; no universal provenance/watermark mechanism was verified.

Exact-product 2025 review focused more narrowly on SoulGen video generation. Retained as a differentiated second perspective; channel context is crypto-oriented and promotional framing is stronger than the lead review, so quality is scored lower.
