Trellis review

Updated 2026-09-08

Product & capabilities

Trellis is an AI operations platform for short-term and vacation-rental property managers. Its agents are designed to handle guest communication, turn requests into operational tasks, coordinate cleaners and maintenance, manage workflows and keep work synchronized with the property manager's existing systems.12

The product goes materially beyond an AI guest-messaging assistant. Trellis publishes dedicated operational surfaces for inbox, workforce, workflows and integrations, and its Guesty marketplace listing independently corroborates two-way guest messaging, reservation/listing synchronization and automated operational write-back.2 The mobile app adds task management, schedules, shift tracking, photo documentation and real-time updates for field teams.3

Agents draft and escalate by default; operators can move channels to autopilot individually and keep selected properties in suggestions-only mode.1 This staged autonomy is a sensible control for hospitality workflows, although vendor-reported automation percentages should not be treated as independent performance measurements.

Pricing & access

Trellis publishes one plan starting at $749.99 per month, scaling with property count, with all platform products included. White-glove onboarding carries a separate one-time fee quoted on the sales call.4 There is no self-serve signup. The company says billing begins only after autopilot reaches a 70% accuracy threshold on the customer's channels; until then no card is required.4

The vendor explicitly targets management companies with about 20 or more units and says smaller portfolios are often better served by cheaper per-listing tools.4 That makes the economics relatively clear for the intended market, but the quoted onboarding fee and portfolio-scaled final subscription price prevent a complete cost calculation from public information alone.

Evidence & trust

Trellis publishes a detailed privacy policy stating that personal data involved in AI-powered communications, scheduling and automation may be processed by Azure OpenAI/OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Vertex AI/Gemini and ElevenLabs, depending on the feature.5 This is important because the platform can process guest identity, contact, booking and message data across operational systems.

The product also exposes meaningful operational guardrails: draft-first behavior, per-channel autonomy and per-property exclusions.1 The current public evidence, however, does not establish a broad independent security certification or a long production reliability record. Trellis was founded in 2026 and Y Combinator confirms it is an active Spring 2026 company, but traction figures shown there originate from the company and do not independently validate reliability or automation rates.6

The App Store confirms an actively maintained exact mobile surface and reports developer-declared privacy information. Its US listing currently shows only three ratings, too few to use as stable numeric validation of the broader platform.3

Who it's for

Trellis is best suited to professional vacation-rental managers whose operational complexity has outgrown simple messaging automation. It is especially relevant when guest conversations must trigger cleaning, maintenance, claims, owner updates or other work across multiple systems.21

The product can sit on top of an existing PMS such as Guesty, and Trellis also publishes direct or intermediary connections for booking channels and property-management systems.27 Smaller hosts, teams without documented operational processes or buyers seeking inexpensive self-serve software are less natural fits given the starting price and onboarding model.4

Strengths & weaknesses

Strengths

unusually deep operational scope, field-team mobile tooling, rich integration coverage and a controlled path from suggestions to autonomy. The Guesty marketplace listing provides useful independent corroboration that Trellis is not merely claiming an integration: it describes reservation/listing sync, two-way messaging and operational write-back into Guesty.2

Weaknesses

early-stage maturity, a relatively high entry price, quote-based onboarding and limited independent evidence for the company's strongest performance claims. Integration behavior can also vary by underlying system: for example, Trellis documents scheduled refresh intervals for Krossbooking rather than uniformly real-time data across every connection.7 Buyers should validate the exact PMS/channel combination, autonomy thresholds and operational failure-handling on their own portfolio before broad deployment.
