Zenpa can search and answer across connected work sources, keep a local memory/index, transcribe and summarize meetings, provide system-wide dictation, and conduct web research. Current first-party materials list integrations including Slack, Gmail, Jira, Notion, GitHub, Apple Mail, Apple Notes, Google Calendar, WhatsApp, Messages, Linear and Granola. Staged integrations must be kept separate from current availability; Asana, for example, is still marked “Soon”. 12
Pricing & access
Zenpa currently advertises a 7-day trial for Monthly and Annual plans, at $9.99/month and $99.99/year. A limited-seat Lifetime license is advertised at $49.99 one time. The terms state that Monthly and Annual trials require a card and convert to paid access on day 8 unless cancelled; Lifetime has no trial. System requirements are Apple Silicon, at least 16 GB RAM and about 10 GB of free model storage. 13
Evidence & trust
Zenpa’s strongest current evidence is first-party. The vendor states that the model, memory, search index and ordinary answers run on-device, with connected work content stored locally in an encrypted database. OAuth tokens are described as locally encrypted, while Zenpa’s servers retain only limited connection metadata and optional telemetry. Usage telemetry is enabled by default but can be disabled; when enabled, Zenpa says it can include questions and technical diagnostics, but not answers or raw memory. Cloud Boost is optional and off by default; when enabled, question-relevant memories can be sent to a cloud model using the user’s own API key. Zenpa also states that the app is Apple-notarized and that TAC Security ESOF verification was performed by an ADA CASA Assessor. Those assessment claims remain vendor-attributed here because no independent verifier record was used as a separate efficacy proof. Independent product-surface testing remains limited, so answer quality, retrieval accuracy, speed and reliability should not be inferred beyond documented capabilities. 45
Who it's for
Zenpa is best suited to privacy-sensitive Mac users who want one local assistant to recall decisions and context across email, messaging, notes, project systems and meetings. Its hardware floor and Mac-only surface make it a narrower fit for Windows users, mixed-device teams or organizations seeking a centrally managed cloud knowledge platform. 12
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
The clearest strength is architectural: the default workflow keeps model inference, memory and indexed work content on the Mac, reducing dependence on a cloud AI provider for sensitive context. It also combines retrieval, meeting notes, dictation and cross-tool memory at a comparatively low advertised price. The main weakness is evidence maturity: there is little independent validation of real-world answer quality, retrieval reliability or performance. Platform scope is another limitation because Apple Silicon and 16 GB RAM are required. Privacy-sensitive buyers should also review the default-on telemetry setting and optional Cloud Boost path rather than assuming every operating mode is fully offline. 145
