Product & capabilities
What it does
Bloomy is a K-12 learning platform covering ELA, math and writing. It combines diagnostics, personalized skill paths, standards-aligned lessons, guided practice, mastery assessments, teacher/parent dashboards and a Socratic AI tutor. Its current curriculum surface describes roughly 1,200 skills across ELA and math, plus a separate Writing Studio.

Evidence & trust
Evidence limits
AiToolMap did not test Bloomy with students, parents or teachers. Learning-science references support the general pedagogical concepts but do not independently validate Bloomy's implementation or outcomes. The fixed 50-source panel found no eligible exact-product numeric review or efficacy benchmark. The 8.1 rating is therefore LOW-confidence and not rank eligible.
Safety & Trust
Bloomy's current safety page is a meaningful positive. It states that tutoring interactions are logged for service, progress, safety investigation and educational quality; unsafe or distressed messages can trigger parent alerts; child information is not sold or used for targeted advertising; child-facing pages do not use advertising cookies; and third-party AI providers are not permitted to train general-purpose models on identifiable child data supplied by Bloomy. These are vendor commitments rather than a substitute for school/parent due diligence, but they are concrete safeguards. Because minors are involved, schools should still verify contractual privacy terms, retention, subprocessors, parental/guardian rights and escalation procedures. 123456
Strengths & weaknesses
Strengths
Bloomy is more structured than a generic chatbot used for homework. The product separates instruction, guided practice and independent mastery checks; its AI tutor is locked during mastery assessments and is designed to scaffold rather than simply provide answers. The curriculum is mapped to standards, accessibility features include read-aloud, adjustable text and keyboard/screen-reader support, and families can buy subjects individually. Current family pricing is $39/month or $279/year per student for ELA, the same for Math, and $19/month or $139/year for Writing Studio.
Weaknesses
The central limitation is efficacy evidence. Bloomy and YC describe early growth results and the vendor publishes school testimonials and NWEA-related progress figures, but the fixed evidence panel did not surface an independent evaluation establishing causal learning gains. The company is also a 2026 startup with a very small team. For a product used by children, that makes long-term reliability, curriculum quality, moderation and privacy governance especially important to keep validating.
