AI work layer for in-house legal teams that connects to enterprise communication and business systems to prepare legal work, decisions and playbook-driven outputs.
Lightfield is built as an AI work layer for in-house legal teams rather than a general legal chatbot. Requests can arrive through email, Teams or Slack; Lightfield says it gathers the surrounding context from connected systems, applies company policies and prior decisions, and presents completed work to counsel for approval.1
The current integration list includes Gmail, Outlook/Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Salesforce, Jira, ServiceNow, Ironclad, Zendesk and HubSpot. The public demo surface shows legal intake, commercial-contract positions, privacy work, employment matters and playbook-driven decision preparation. These examples establish the intended workflow surface, not independently measured legal accuracy or time savings.1
The public site offers a 30-day free period and demo booking, but AiToolMap did not verify a public price list, self-serve paid tier structure, public API contract or open-source license. Commercial cost therefore remains unconfirmed.1
YC lists Lightfield as an active Fall 2026 company founded in 2026 with a two-person team. That independently corroborates current identity and positioning, but not efficacy or commercial maturity.2
Lightfield states that data is encrypted in transit and at rest with per-tenant key encryption, is not used to train generalized/public/third-party AI models, supports Google and Microsoft SSO, and can be exported or deleted. These are useful security commitments but remain first-party claims in this desk review.1
The site's displayed 38.1 hours saved, 148% output lift and matter counters are treated as product-demo/vendor metrics, not AiToolMap measurements or independent benchmark results.1
The fixed 50-source panel found no current exact-product independent benchmark, substantive review or eligible user-rating corpus. Forty-three sources returned no relevant result and seven canonical domains were crawler-inaccessible. Search matching explicitly excluded the unrelated Lightfield Legal Practitioners law firm and other Lightfield products. Missing external coverage is neutral.
Lightfield is best aligned with in-house counsel and legal-operations teams whose work arrives through multiple business systems and is governed by repeatable playbooks or prior decisions. Its approval-oriented workflow is particularly relevant where AI should prepare analysis and recommendations without replacing the lawyer's decision.1
It is less suitable today for buyers requiring transparent public pricing, a mature independent review corpus or independently validated automation accuracy. Teams should test integration fidelity, permission boundaries, source traceability, playbook behavior and escalation rules on representative legal matters before operational reliance.
clear in-house legal focus; broad business-system connectivity; playbook and prior-decision context; explicit counsel approval; security/data-use commitments; and a workflow surface broader than stand-alone drafting.1
