A legal AI platform aimed at professional-services workflows, document work and legal research.
Harvey is one of the most mature enterprise legal-AI platforms. It combines conversational drafting and analysis, legal research, secure document repositories, structured review tables, workflow agents, Microsoft Word and Outlook surfaces, mobile access and enterprise governance. Its differentiator is the legal workflow layer around multiple frontier models, institutional knowledge and firm controls rather than dependence on a single foundation model. 12
Vault can store and organize up to 100,000 documents, including files and email correspondence, and connects with systems such as iManage, SharePoint and Google Drive. Review Tables extract and compare information across large document sets, while current August releases add agentic Vault search and direct agent actions inside review tables. 32
Harvey is explicitly multi-model and continues to add frontier providers through its model selector. It is also investing in evaluation and post-training: the open-source Legal Agent Benchmark contains more than 1,200 long-horizon legal tasks across 24 practice areas and more than 75,000 expert-written rubric criteria, while the Tenet work shows that Harvey is developing model-layer capability as well as orchestration. 45
Harvey does not publish standard self-serve pricing for the core enterprise platform. Access is sales-led and contract-based, which is consistent with large-firm procurement but makes value-for-money difficult to compare externally. The exact-product G2 surface likewise does not provide a current standardized vendor price. 6
For buyers, the practical pricing question is therefore total enterprise value rather than a simple seat comparison: deployment scope, document and knowledge integrations, governance requirements, training, workflow adoption and the amount of legal work displaced or accelerated all matter. Small teams that require transparent month-to-month pricing will find this model less accessible.
Exact-product user evidence is positive but still limited in volume. G2 shows Harvey AI at roughly 4.5/5 across 19 reviews; current and historical comments praise drafting, contract review, research speed, summarization and ease of use, while also noting that detailed legal nuance and workflow output still require independent verification. The small sample and presence of incentivized reviews limit how much weight the aggregate should carry. 6
Independent reporting strongly supports commercial maturity. The Wall Street Journal has reported a large cross-country customer footprint and Harvey's multi-model expansion; Bloomberg reported a March 2026 financing round valuing the company at $11 billion; Reuters, TechCrunch and the Financial Times have separately covered adoption, funding, integrations and legal-AI strategy. These signals reduce early-product risk but do not prove the accuracy of legal output. 7891011
Security and contractual controls are unusually well documented. Harvey states that customer inputs, outputs and uploaded documents are not used to train underlying models; it exposes SAML SSO, audit logs, IP allow-listing, data-lifecycle controls and regional hosting options, and lists SOC 2 Type II plus ISO 27001, 27701 and 42001 among its assurance frameworks. The August 2026 DPA treats Harvey as processor for Customer Personal Data, while the Platform Agreement expressly preserves the need to treat AI output as potentially erroneous rather than as legal advice. 121314
The most important reliability limitation comes from Harvey's own benchmark evidence. On LAB's strict all-pass standard, frontier systems remain far from reliably completing complex legal matters end to end. That supports using Harvey as a high-leverage drafting, research, review and workflow system with professional supervision, not as an autonomous source of final legal judgment. 15
Harvey is best suited to large and mid-sized law firms, sophisticated in-house legal teams and adjacent professional-services organizations that can justify enterprise procurement and want AI embedded into controlled workflows. It is particularly compelling where teams need to combine internal precedents and matter files with legal research, structured document review and reusable workflows while preserving permissions and ethical walls.
It is less suitable for solo practitioners and small teams that need transparent low-cost self-service pricing. It is also a poor fit for any workflow that expects unsupervised final legal advice: both the contractual terms and the available benchmark evidence support lawyer-in-the-loop review.
